The Farm Family Table⏐Homesteading, Homemaking, Christian Mom New Do you desire a simpler, healthier lifestyle for your family but just feel stuck in the hustle of busy mom life? Do you wish there was an easy way to start homesteading without immediately feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or not good enough? Hi, I’m Jocelyn, and I’m so excited you’re here at The Farm Family Table. I remember when I became a new mom, I wanted to set my child up for their best, healthiest life, but often I felt exhausted and discouraged. I wanted to provide the best food, from-scratch, and be more self-reliant, but it felt impossible to balance learning new skills, taking care of my home, and spending quality time with my kids. I felt overwhelmed by all the things I wanted and needed to do, and felt guilty when I couldn’t keep up. I compared myself to picture-perfect farm life on social media, only to feel like I’m not doing enough but not sure how to do more. This was not the life God had planned for me. But then I discovered a secret to start homesteading the easy way for less stress, more joy, and more time focusing on what matters most, faith and family. What if I told you, there’s a way that you can achieve healthy balance and thrive in this lifestyle that God is calling you to? Want to learn how? Inside this podcast, you will find: - Encouragement for creating a homestead with God at the center - Resources for building knowledge in homesteading skills like cooking from scratch, gardening, food preservation, and raising animals - Practical tips for faith-based family life on the farm I can’t wait for you to join me on this journey, so we can slow down, put God and our families first, and enjoy a more simple, natural, self-sufficient lifestyle. My prayer is that you leave this podcast encouraged in Christ and equipped with practical knowledge for your homestead. Do you ever feel tired and burned out from the daily mom grind? The endless diaper changes, dirty clothes, dealing with tantrums and fighting, and putting meals on the table three times a day? Being a stay at home mom is hard, especially when you are outnumbered by your crazy littles running around. Sometimes it feels like trying to homestead on top of it all is just too much. Today, I want to share some encouragement from a mom who’s been there and help you gain a new perspective on why staying home, raising your kids, and homesteading matters. I hope this episode helps you find God’s purpose for where he has you right now.
I pray that this episode would be the encouragement that you need to hear today. Even on the days when you are tired, when you feel like you can’t do it anymore, remind yourself that this is a season. Take on what you can for that day, but know that what you are doing is setting your child up for their best life, so they can be a light in the darkness and grow up to be world changers. And it all starts with you, Mama. Your job is so, so important. Don’t ever underestimate that. I pray that God would strengthen you in whatever hardships you are facing in your motherhood right now. When you go to the grocery store, what influences what you buy? What looks good? What’s on sale? What about what’s in season? We live in a world where we can get strawberries in December and squash in June, and our culture has really lost touch with a natural pattern of eating with the seasons. Today we are going to explore the concept of seasonal eating to transform your grocery budget, your health, and the way you think about food. I’m going to challenge some cultural norms and break down why seasonal eating is still valuable to us, and what seasonal eating looks like for our family.
I hope this episode inspires you to give more seasonal-eating a try, whether from your own garden or just being intentional about how you select foods from the store. There is something so exciting about each season when it brings new foods and flavors to your meals.

Have you ever been in a place where things are going well on your homestead, you are making strides, learning new things, being productive in your home, and then a hard season hits and it just feels like everything falls apart? Suddenly you are struggling to do the daily things that you used to be able to do. I think as moms we can have so much guilt in letting things go and laying down some of the responsibilities we’ve tacked on ourselves. But today, I want to give you encouragement, coming from my own recent hard season, on how we can give ourselves grace while prioritizing what needs to happen in our homes.
I hope this episode lifts you up today if you are finding yourself in a tough season, not sure how to do it all, and feeling tired or burnt out. I pray that God would give you the strength to carry on through this current struggle and that He would give you wisdom in the areas that you need to let go of.
